What is the Progress Bar?
The Progress Bar is a core progression mechanic that automatically fills up as you play. It synergises with your progress through zones and provides rewards including pixels, XP, and has a chance to trigger modest bonus effects that both enhance your combat capabilities and resource generation!
How the Progress Bar Fills
The bar fills automatically over time based on your progress speed. The fill rate is added every 0.05 seconds using:
Active vs Idle Mode
| Mode | Speed Factor | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Active | 1.0 (100%) | When you're actively playing (keyboard/mouse/touch input) |
| Idle | 0.30 (30%) | After a certain amount of inactivity you enter IDLE-mode. |
Rewards When the Bar Fills
Every time the progress bar reaches 100%, you receive:
Pixels
Final pixels = Random(0.02-0.45) × Base + Random(0-4)
Higher levels grant more pixels per progress completion.
Experience Points
Where base XP is the XP of the last defeated enemy (if that enemy gives more than the current Base XP) Note: Base XP multiplier decreases by 13.5% each completion (retains 86.5%)
Perk Triggers
Each time the bar fills, perks have a chance to activate. More on details in the next section!
🎯 Progress Bar Perks
Each perk has its own activation chance that increases with upgrades. Multiple perks can trigger from a single progress bar completion!
🔄 Double Progress
Adds 100% extra progress using a smooth animation curve. The bar immediately starts filling again!
💰 Abundance (Extra Pixels)
Grants bonus pixels on top of the normal progress rewards. Great for increasing your earning rate!
📚 Learning (Rank XP)
Grants rank XP and bonus player XP. Essential for leveling up faster and progressing through ranks.
⚡ Power Charge (Damage Buff)
Builds up damage charges that stack up to 5 times. Each attack consumes one charge for 20% bonus damage!
❤️ Regeneration (Healing)
Instantly heals your character. Useful for surviving difficult encounters without using potions.
💙 Mental Refreshment (Mana Regen)
Restores mana, allowing you to use more abilities without waiting for natural regeneration.
🌟 Ascension Bonus: LuckSeeker
The LuckSeeker Ascension Perk increases the maximum level of all progress bar perks.
LuckSeeker has 3 levels, meaning you can push each perk 3 levels higher than the base maximum. This dramatically increases your perk activation chances - but it requires you to ascend 3 times to obtain..
Max Levels with LuckSeeker
| Perk | Base Max | With LuckSeeker III |
|---|---|---|
| Double Progress | 15 | 18 |
| Extra Pixels | 10 | 13 |
| Power Charge | 10 | 13 |
| Rank XP | 10 | 13 |
| Healing | 5 | 8 |
| Mana Regen | 5 | 8 |
💡 Strategy Tips
- Prioritize Double Progress: This perk makes the progress bar gain 100% extra progress, meaning it effectively double triggers. This effect synergises with the other perks and itself, making this perk very powerful!
- Stack Power Charges: If you're about to fight a boss, let Power Charge stack to 5 before engaging. Each attack will consume one charge for 20% bonus damage, giving you sustained burst over multiple hits.
- Balance Your Upgrades: Don't over-invest in one perk. Spreading upgrades across perks gives more consistent benefits.
🎯 Conclusion
The progress bar system is one of Idle Adventure's most rewarding passive progression mechanics.
Prioritize upgrading Progress Speed and the Double Progress perk yet don't neglect the other perks. The progress bar and the perks provide valuable resources during both active and idle progression. Don't neglect upgrading your progress bar perks!
