What is the Progress Bar?

The Progress Bar is a core progression mechanic that automatically fills up as you play. It synergises with your progress through zones and provides rewards including pixels, XP, and has a chance to trigger modest bonus effects that both enhance your combat capabilities and resource generation!

Automatic Rewards: Every time the bar fills to 100%, you gain pixels, XP, and have a chance to trigger up to 6 different bonus perks!

How the Progress Bar Fills

The bar fills automatically over time based on your progress speed. The fill rate is added every 0.05 seconds using:

Progress Rate = 0.6 × Speed Factor × Delta Time / 0.05

Active vs Idle Mode

Mode Speed Factor Description
Active 1.0 (100%) When you're actively playing (keyboard/mouse/touch input)
Idle 0.30 (30%) After a certain amount of inactivity you enter IDLE-mode.
Progress Bar Upgrades: You can upgrade the progress bar to increase its fill rate.

Rewards When the Bar Fills

Every time the progress bar reaches 100%, you receive:

Pixels

Base = (0.75 + 1.55 × 0.25) × floor(level^0.875) × Pixel Modifier
Final pixels = Random(0.02-0.45) × Base + Random(0-4)

Higher levels grant more pixels per progress completion.

Experience Points

XP Gain = Base XP × Random(0.2, 0.6)
Where base XP is the XP of the last defeated enemy (if that enemy gives more than the current Base XP) Note: Base XP multiplier decreases by 13.5% each completion (retains 86.5%)

💡 Strategy Tips

  • Prioritize Double Progress: This perk makes the progress bar gain 100% extra progress, meaning it effectively double triggers. This effect synergises with the other perks and itself, making this perk very powerful!
  • Stack Power Charges: If you're about to fight a boss, let Power Charge stack to 5 before engaging. Each attack will consume one charge for 20% bonus damage, giving you sustained burst over multiple hits.
  • Balance Your Upgrades: Don't over-invest in one perk. Spreading upgrades across perks gives more consistent benefits.

🎯 Conclusion

The progress bar system is one of Idle Adventure's most rewarding passive progression mechanics.

Prioritize upgrading Progress Speed and the Double Progress perk yet don't neglect the other perks. The progress bar and the perks provide valuable resources during both active and idle progression. Don't neglect upgrading your progress bar perks!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the progress bar in Idle Adventure?
The progress bar is an automatic progression system that fills as you play. Every time it reaches 100%, you receive pixels, XP, and have a chance to trigger up to 6 different bonus perks that each help you in various ways.
Which progress bar perk should I upgrade first?
Prioritize Double Progress. This perk instantly fills the bar by 100% when it triggers. It has the highest return on investment because it synergies with all the other perks aswell as itself.
What does the LuckSeeker Ascension Perk do?
LuckSeeker increases the maximum level cap for all progress bar perks. Each of its 3 levels adds +1 to every perk's max level, allowing you to push Double Progress to level 18, Extra Pixels to 13, and other perks beyond their base caps.
Does the progress bar fill when I'm idle?
Yes, but at reduced speed. When actively playing, the bar fills at 100% speed. After 10 seconds of no keyboard or mouse input, the speed drops to 30%. Any input resets the idle timer back to active speed.
Can multiple progress bar perks trigger at once?
Yes! All 6 perks roll independently each time the bar fills. You can trigger multiple perks from a single progress completion. Higher perk levels increase individual activation chances, so upgrading perks makes multiple triggers more common.
