What Are Pets?
Pets are passive followers in Idle Adventure that provide valuable stat bonuses to strengthen
your character. Unlike Loyal
Companions, which actively fight alongside you with complex abilities, pets offer two distinct
types of bonuses: permanent bonuses and equipped bonuses.
Key Feature: With 93+ unique pets to collect, each pet provides one permanent
stat bonus that's always active when owned, plus additional stats when equipped. Only
one pet can be equipped at a time, but all owned pets contribute their permanent bonuses
simultaneously.
Dual Bonus System
Permanent Bonuses: Always active from all owned pets, regardless of which is equipped
Equipped Bonuses: Full stat bonuses and combat damage only available from the currently
selected pet
Stackable Benefits: Permanent bonuses from all pets stack together for powerful cumulative
bonuses
Strategic Selection: Choose which pet to equip based on your current needs and build

Pets gain experience primarily by being equipped while you defeat enemies. Your equipped pet
earns +1 XP from each enemy defeated, but only from enemies that
meet the pet's enemy level requirement.
Important: Each pet has a fixed enemy level requirement that never changes. Early-game pets
(like Sunflower) can gain XP from weak enemies, while late-game pets (like Duck or Muscle Bob) require much
stronger enemies to earn XP. Each qualifying enemy defeated grants exactly +1 XP.
How Pets Gain Experience
Primary Method - Combat: Equip your pet and defeat enemies that meet its enemy level
requirement (+1 XP per enemy)
Fixed Requirement: Each pet's enemy level requirement is fixed - it doesn't change as the
pet gains XP levels (0-5)
Secondary Method - Pet Food:
Feed pets directly using Pet Food items (250 XP
per food)
Pro Tip: Save your Pet Food for
high-level pets! Since it's not possible to idle grind the
highest level pets in the game, Pet Food becomes
invaluable for leveling them. Use combat to level low-level
pets naturally, and reserve Pet Food for your
high-level pets where active grinding becomes impractical.
Level Progression
Pets have a base maximum of Level 3, which can be increased by +2 levels through
Ascension Perks to reach Level 5. Each level increases the effectiveness of their stat bonuses:
Pet Level
XP Required
Stat Multiplier
Level 0
0 - 499 XP
0x multiplier (no permanent bonus)
Level 1
500 - 2,999 XP
0.2x multiplier
Level 2
3,000 - 10,499 XP
0.5x multiplier
Level 3
10,500 - 22,999 XP
1.0x multiplier
Level 4
23,000 - 42,999 XP
1.25x multiplier
Level 5 (Requires Ascension)
43,000+ XP
1.5x multiplier
Ascension Benefits: The base maximum pet level is 3, but can be increased by +2 levels
through Ascension Perks to reach Level 5, allowing you to further boost your pet collection's power.
Leveling Tips
Equip and Fight: Keep your pet equipped during combat to earn +1 XP per enemy defeated
Enemy Level Requirements: Each pet has a fixed enemy level requirement - early-game pets
like Sunflower gain XP from weak enemies, while late-game pets require much stronger enemies
Match Pet to Area: Fight in areas appropriate for that specific pet's enemy level
requirement (this never changes as the pet gains XP)
Strategic Pet Food Use: Each
Pet Food grants 250 XP - save it for high-level
pets
Level Cap: Base maximum is Level 3 (+2 from Ascension Perks to reach Level 5)
XP Scaling: Level 5 requires 43,000+ total XP from equal-or-higher level enemy kills!
Permanent Bonuses (Always Active)
The most powerful feature of the pet system is that every pet you own provides a permanent bonus
bonus that contributes to your character's power regardless of which pet is
equipped.
Critical Understanding: Permanent bonuses from ALL owned pets stack together.
As
you expand your pet collection, these cumulative bonuses significantly strengthen your character, making pet
collection a long-term progression goal.
How Permanent Bonuses Work
Level 1 Required: Permanent bonuses only become active when the pet reaches Level 1 or
higher
Level 0 Pets Give Nothing: Newly unlocked pets at Level 0 provide NO permanent bonus until
leveled
No Equipment Required: You receive the bonus even if another pet is equipped
Scales with Level: Permanent bonuses benefit from the pet's level multiplier (Level 0: 0x,
Level 1: 0.2x, up to 1.5x at Level 5)
One Per Pet: Each pet provides exactly one type of permanent bonus
Quick Win: Level new pets to Level 1 as soon as possible! It only takes 500 XP
to reach Level 1, and this unlocks 20% of the pet's permanent bonus potential. This is a fast way to start
benefiting from newly unlocked pets.
Strategic Value
Because permanent bonuses accumulate across your entire collection, every pet unlock matters.
Even pets you never plan to equip provide lasting value through their permanent bonuses. This makes pet
collection a rewarding long-term goal that continuously strengthens your character.
Pro Tip: Prioritize leveling pets with permanent bonuses that complement your build. A pet with
+Crit Chance permanent bonus becomes more valuable to crit-focused builds when leveled to 1.5x multiplier at
Level 5.
Equipped Bonuses & Combat (Active Pet Only)
While permanent bonuses provide passive benefits from all pets, equipped bonuses are only
active
from your currently selected pet. You can only have one pet equipped at a
time, making pet selection a strategic choice.
Equipped Pet Benefits
Full Stat Bonuses: All of the equipped pet's bonuses apply to your character
Passive Benefits: Most pets provide only stat bonuses when equipped
Combat Pets: Some pets can attack enemies, but they are usually not very strong attackers
Pet Combat System
Most pets do not attack - they simply provide stat bonuses when equipped. Some pets have the
ability to attack enemies, but their damage contribution is typically minimal compared to your own combat
effectiveness.
Selecting Your Active Pet
Choose your equipped pet based on:
Current Build: Match pet stats to your character's strengths
Enemy Type: Use Boss Damage pets for boss encounters
Farming Goals: Equip Loot Chance or XP Modifier pets when grinding
Survival Needs: Switch to HP or Armor pets for difficult content
Remember: While you can only equip one pet at a time, changing your equipped pet is free and
instant. Experiment with different pets to find what works best for each situation.
Pet Stat Types
Pets can provide bonuses across 22 different stat types, offering tremendous build diversity.
Each pet has its own unique combination of permanent and equipped bonuses.

apply
regardless of which pet is equipped. Once key permanent bonuses are maxed, level the pets you frequently

Do pets work with Loyal Companions?
Yes! Pets and Loyal Companions are separate systems that work together. You can have both one
equipped pet and one active companion simultaneously. Pet bonuses (both permanent and equipped) apply to your
character and don't interfere with companion mechanics.
