🐸 Crossy Cube

Classic arcade action with scaling difficulty and loot rewards

Overview

Crossy Cube is a tribute to the classic arcade game where you guide a frog through dangerous roads and rivers. Navigate through traffic, jump on logs to cross water, and collect valuable loot while the game gets progressively harder. How far can you make it?

Access: Crossy Cube is available from the mini games panel in Idle Adventure, which unlocks early in the game.

Terrain Types

Grass (Safe)

Green tiles where you can safely stand and rest. No hazards here!

Roads (Dangerous)

Roads spawn moving obstacles (Evil Cubes) that travel left or right at varying speeds. Getting hit means instant death! Watch the traffic patterns and time your crossing carefully.

Water (Requires Logs)

You cannot swim! Water sections have floating logs you must jump onto. Stay on the logs to cross safely - falling in the water means death. Logs move left or right, so position yourself carefully.

Rails

Less common terrain type. Very fast trains will occasionally spawn on the rails - watch for warning lights on the tracks that signal incoming trains. Time your crossing carefully!

Boundary Deaths: Moving too far left or right (beyond the play area) will also result in death!

Difficulty Scaling

The game gets progressively harder as you advance:

Difficulty = 1.05 + (Distance - 5) × 0.008
Maximum Difficulty = 5.0×

Difficulty affects:

Starting Safe: The first 5 tiles have low difficulty to help you get started. Difficulty caps at 5.0× for balance.

Loot System

Collectible loot spawns frequently. Run over it to collect! Loot amounts scale with difficulty, so pushing further yields better rewards.

Loot Type Drop Rate
Pixels 80%
Crystals 8%
Voxels 7%
Gems 1%
Chicken Pet Rare
Pet Unlock: After reaching score 100, the Chicken companion pet has a chance to spawn as loot! It's a one-time reward.

Pet Unlocks

Crossy Cube offers three companion pets as permanent rewards:

Pet Name Unlock Requirement Description
Egg Reach highscore of 100 First milestone pet - achieve a score of 100 or higher
Chick Reach highscore of 200 Advanced milestone pet - achieve a score of 200 or higher
Chicken Loot drop (score > 100) Rare loot drop that has a chance to spawn after reaching score 100
Highscore Pets: The Egg and Chick pets unlock automatically when you reach their required highscore thresholds. The Chicken pet is a random loot drop that requires both luck and skill!

Scoring

Your score equals your furthest forward position. Moving backward doesn't decrease your score - only forward progress counts!

High Score System

Your best score is permanently saved. Each run displays both your current score and your all-time high score. Can you beat your record?

Death & Restart

Death occurs when you:

When you die, a death animation plays, and after a brief delay, you're returned to the menu. You keep any loot collected during that run! Start a new game to try again.

Log Mechanics

Logs are critical for crossing water safely:

Stay On the Log: Moving off a log while over water = instant death!

Strategy Tips

FAQ

How do I avoid getting hit by cars?
Watch the traffic patterns carefully. Evil Cubes move at different speeds - wait for gaps before crossing. You can also move backward if needed to wait for a safe opening.
What happens if I fall in the water?
Instant death! You must jump onto floating logs to cross water sections. Stay on the logs - they move left or right, so position yourself carefully. Falling off means you'll have to restart.
How do I unlock the Chicken pet?
The Chicken pet is a rare loot drop that only spawns if your score is above 100 and you don't already own it. You'll also unlock the Egg pet at score 100 and Chick pet at score 200 as guaranteed rewards.
What's the best strategy for high scores?
Focus on moving forward consistently rather than collecting every piece of loot. Prioritize safety over greed - one death means starting over. Watch for warning lights on rails to avoid fast trains, and always stay aware of your position relative to the left/right boundaries.
Do rewards get better the further I go?
Yes! Loot amounts scale with difficulty, so pushing further yields better rewards of Pixels, Voxels, Crystals, and Gems. The difficulty multiplier caps at 5.0×, providing a good balance between challenge and reward.
What are the warning lights on rails for?
Warning lights signal that a very fast train is about to spawn on that rail track. When you see the lights activate, either cross immediately before the train appears or wait for it to pass. Trains move much faster than cars, so timing is critical!
Can I move backward if I'm in danger?
Yes! You can move backward one tile. This is useful for waiting out traffic or repositioning before crossing water. However, moving backward doesn't increase your score - only forward progress counts.
